Product Overview
Sika Waterbars for movement and expansion joints are specifically designed to accommodate multi-directional structural movement while maintaining a watertight seal. These joints split components through their full thickness with a defined gap width, allowing for differential movement caused by temperature variations or load settlement.
-
Internal (Type O): Installed centrally within the concrete cross-section. These feature a hollow center "O-bulb" that stretches to accommodate expansion. They are protected from external damage and can handle water pressure from both sides.
-
External (Type DR): Fixed onto the outer surface (water contact side) of the concrete. They are easier to install for thinner concrete components but are primarily effective against water pressure from the contact side.
