Description

Brick Reinforcement Mesh is embedded in mortar (cement) joints to give extra tensile strength to wall and help withstand vibration and sudden loading, or to minimize unsightly cracks due to settlement.

Material

  • Steel

Uses

  • Brick/block masonry walls

  • Long or large wall panels

  • Around door & window openings

  • Wall junctions (corners, T-joints)

  • Parapet walls

  • Boundary / perimeter walls

  • Load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls

  • Areas prone to cracking or movement

Characteristics & Advantages

  • Controls cracks (shrinkage & temperature)

  • Strengthens masonry walls (adds tensile strength)

  • Reinforces weak areas (openings, corners, joints)

  • Improves bonding between bricks & mortar

  • Reduces wall movement & separation

  • Enhances durability and stability

Installation Steps

  1. Position the mesh within the masonry bed joints, providing a minimum of 25mm cover to external faces.

  2. Overlap by a minimum of 75mm if joining two lengths together. The mesh can be laid every third brickwork course for most reinforcement.
